Our land: Salento

Galatina is the third city of Salento after Lecce and Maglie and is an important crossroads for trade and industry led the Salento. This importance has made the Salentinian city seat of a permanent exhibition where there are important expositions throughout the year.

Rich in history and traditions Galatina preserves beautiful examples of Baroque Leccese but above all the most emblematic of Taranta.  In fact, the legends says that  the tarantati  were conducted into the  church of Saint Paul, where the they were made to drink the water of the sacred well of the chapel and were made to dance at  the rhythm of pizzica. At the sound of music tarantata began a rampage in a frenzied dance to the fainting.

Salento therefore retains an ancient charm and original that often in harsh contrast with the rest of the regions of South Italy.
